5/30/2023 0 Comments Lulu vs little snitch![]() ![]() So I removed LS and am letting Lulu run for a few days to see if it resolves that quirk. E.g if my son was logged in, and then I switched to my user account, then switched back to his account, his account could not regain internet access without logging out entirely. My particular interest is our shared iMac (used by two sons and wife) where I'd had internet connectivity problems before when switching between user accounts. I have a few machines in my house so I'm putting it on others and seeing what happens. That review I'd seen but it really doesn't dive deep enough. ![]() Here is a review of 10 LittleSnitch alternatives. The Lulu Changelog and other update info is available at the Objective-See website. Confirming it would require comparing the rule sets for each one. I suspect that the other utilities start with something closer to a blank slate rule-wise. The platform also offers alerting & monitoring, as well as Prometheus, OpenSearch & Grafana. Logit.io provides complete observability of logs, metrics and traces. I chalk it up in part to Lulu's stock rules and the option to automatically authorize already installed third-party apps. It almost felt like a full-time job getting LittleSnitch and HandsOff up and running. But if memory serves me (and things may have changed re how the other utilities are designed) I had to give the OK to many more processes than when using Lulu. Now it has been a while since I stopped using HandsOff and Little Snitch. ![]()
